After months had past after the release of Terminator 2, low and behold Terminator 1 was on TV. I had never seen the 1st one in its entirety. At my young age at the time I was still wrapping my head about time travel. Back to the Future was extraordinary at the time for me; but Terminator took it to another step. In this picture I show the barrage of bullets Arnold was taking as his flesh is being shredded off to show his exoskeleton.

Vol. 1 - Pg 9,10 & 11- I <3 Terminator 2
Here are some more Terminator 2: Judgement Day inspired pics I had drawn when I was young. I think there were based off photographic references. At the time also they had released the new T2 Arcade Game. That was an awesome light gun game. Played it whenever I had the chance in the Pickering Town Centre.

Vol. 1 - Pg 8 - Powered by T2
So it begins....Judgment Day. Well not really, I'm itching to go see this movie. But before it can come out, you gotta be exposed to the hype machine powered by Hollywood. This is where I learned about trailers. I saw previews, commercials, ET specials, even toys. And all of them consisted of that iconic image. A flaming background with a robot skull. With red lit eyes, it was the most bad ass pic you could ever imagine. It stayed in my head for a long time and eventually I put it on paper.
Vol. 1 - Pg 7 - Every Villain Suffers a Meltdown
With the creation of the Jah Clan, I needed to stock up on adversaries / rogue gallery for them to fight. I think this was around the time of DC Comics releasing The Death of Superman. I became more interested in Superman during that time. I wanted to see this villain that finally destroys the Man of Steel. Thus I was introduced to Doomsday.
My villain was named Meltdown. I wanted to create some big and menacing, and possessed nuclear powers. He seemed too powerful for the Jah Clan, but was he the right fit for this Jah Clan universe? He was a start though.
Side Note: After looking at Meltdown, he reminded me of the Super Mutants from the video game Fallout 3. Big bruting characters packing weapons, with enough radiation exposure to make you look radiating. Hmm I wonder if I have enough grounds to sue Bethseda Software? lol.

Vol 1. - Pg 6 - Ninjas with Hoodies
I was in a fashion stage in my life, where I like wearing hoodie sweatshirts. And I combined that with my love for ninjas and create The Jah Clan. A cross between Ninja Turtles' Foot Clan and yet a bunch of brothers as well. The names were not that original. But the weapon designs were like swords from Thundercats. Here's my 1st 2 creations Fire-jah and Dark-jah
Vol 1. - Pg 5 - A little D&D time
I was never really into Dungeons and Dragons as a kid. One time I saw this Unsolved Mysteries episode (hosted by Ultra Magnus' Robert Stack). They relived this incident about a kid who had jumped off a cliff. Turns out the parents looked into his room, and found a D&D RPG guide, that if you took a leap of faith, you'd level up. Something on thoses lines, but the way the show reenacted the D&D rituals scared the hell out of me.
Later on, I was shown these books by a friend about stories that spin out of the D&D universe. I liked some of the spot illustrations between the chapters. So I asked to borrow the book and started copying some of the characters. Later on, a store popped up in our local mall called "Leisure World". It was a heaven for RPG fans. I went there to see other D&D artwork, as well as other RPG series.

Vol 1. - Pg 4 - Marvel at my Wolverine
Wolverine, 1 of many X-men I was introduced to back then. I was so proud to know he was Canadian. The claws of animantium was just amazing. This sketch I believe was based of a Marvel Comic trading card, produced by Fleer. Those cards were beautiful. Spot varnishes, metallic inks, power stats on the back. Better than baseball cards for sure. You'll noticed Wolverine is a bit off the page. At this point in my life, I wasn't good at composition, I drew and hope everything fitted on the page. :)
